Nice app, i like it a lot
A few suggestions:
* Add a button/menu to clear the tracks from GE. After playing around with things, i.e. calibrate etc, the GE map can become cluttered. Its not too hard to delete the tracks/etc from the temp places in GE, but its kind of a pain to do over and over and not everyone will know how.
* add a command key to bring up the logging window.
* I'm not sure, but in mac land are menu's allowed to change? i.e. the options in the menu are different if the logging window is open or not. surprised me, but maybe thats just me.
* Add option to clamp pictures to the ground vs. using the alt. info from the GPS. Currently the pictures float which could be cool, but can also be a pain depending on how you are viewing things.
* increase the font size for the labels on the track in GE. they are pretty small on my MBP monitor.
* I like your calibration method, for some reason i thought you were supposed to select all images in aperture that went with the .gpx file, it only showed the first one. Took me a bit to realize i was just supposed to use one image. You might want to have an error box if a user attempts to calibrate with more than one image selected in AP.
:-)
Unfortunately there's no way of doing this from outside Google Earth. :-(
You should only be seeing two tracks at a time, as new previews will over-ride old ones, and new calibrations will over-ride old ones. Also, when you quit GE it will ask if you want to keep the temporary items, so I need to make sure that this is includes in the docs.
Aye.
They are, but it's not used very often as most applications only work in one 'mode'. It's rare enough that I'm probably going to make them the same to stop confusion.
If you clamp them to the ground, you can't see the timestamps or the point on the ground. It'll become a preference at some stage, though.
In the long run I'll be making this a preference. For now I'll just bump them up a bit. Do you mean the image labels or all the timestamps as well?
Either a warning, or more documentation. Needs something, though.
Thanks for all the great feedback,
Ian

To expand on this, zooming in close to the image(s) and then moving sideways will show the point on the map along with a line linking the image and the point.
ian,
You're right about the GE tracks, only 2 at a time show, if you redo it GE asks if you want to update the existing ones.
On the font sizes, IMO, the pic labels and the whole minute time stamps (i.e. 5 min, 10min) are fine. its the ones in the middle that are hard to read... i attached a screen shot from my computer to show what they look like. Interestingly (maybe this is a GE thing) the font seems fine at a high eye alt but as you zoom in it gets smaller and smaller. I'll post a screen shot to show what i mean.

Yes, GE seems to do some odd scaling at different eye altitudes.
