Why are the backup folders named in such an obtuse way? i.e. 7mK9TZVPQla4EG0oSnxCJw
It means to find a backup you have to basically look thru each one until you find the file you are looking for. Could they be named something more informational? or just put the images all in a flat hierarchy so that you can just look for the file name.
Also in the backup instructions i think it said something about the backups being named _original or something (i can't find how to get the instructions up again). It doesn't look like the backups file names are changed to me.

This is the unique ID that Aperture uses to keep track of each Master file, even if they have identical file names. This means that a future version of GPS2Aperture will be able to have an automated 'restore originals' feature.
Anything using the file name, whether it's multiple folders or a flat hierarchy runs into problems as soon as you get more than one file with the same name, or referenced Masters have had their names changed via File>Relocate Masters... etc. I'd have to keep track of the master ID and name of the backed up file for every image that was ever backed up, and how the two relate to each other.
Oops. That's from the old backup system, I need to change the popup text. To see it again, delete com.ianjameswood.gps2aperture.plist from your preferences folder, but of course this will delete all your GPS2Aperture preferences.
