Tried a lot to gain smooth movs without shattering > no success.
Therefore, I principally´d like to know: Is it possible to obtain the same quality as if I would play my mov-file with cubic navigator or GLPanoview or will there always be that "unsmoothness" the final movies have, or are there any filters one has to use to get a satisfacory result?
Tried 50i 50p, 25p > it´s shattering all the time.
A couple of questions:
How fast are you trying to pan? Anything faster than about 6 degrees per second is likely to look rough because Pano2Movie doesn't add motion blur. If you are zoomed in, you'll need to go even more slowly.
What dimensions and compression are you using? Uncompressed HD footage can require upwards of 150MB/s data rates, which generally requires a dedicated RAID for smooth playback.
Thanks,
Ian
So what if Pano2Movie had a "add motion blur" feature? Could this help this problem? I cannot pan at any speed without seeing the roughness of rotation at any setings. All with a very new, fully loaded iMac running no other applications, etc.
Adding motion blur as an option would require re-writing the rendering part of Pano2Movie from scratch. In theory it could be done, but Pano2Movie sales will never be high enough to pay for the time it would take. :-(
Again, how fast are you panning, what frame size and codec/compression settings?
What do you mean by 'shattering'? Jerkiness from frame to frame, 'tearing' of the image?
If you open the video in QuickTime Player and open the info window, what is the data rate and what is the difference between the file's display rate and the actual display rate? Do you see a difference if you go to View>Play All Frames?
Thanks,
Ian
