I recently downloaded the most recent version of Pano2Movie as well as the beta version. Are there any output limitations?
Mu computers are: Mac G5 1.8 single processor on OS 10.4.9 w/2.5G of ram. MacBook dural core Intel with 3 G of Ram on OS 10.5.
First test: Simple 360 rotation at constant speed. No pauses. No adjustment of vertical angle of vies. No zoom in or zoom out.
p2m_202 works flawlessly on both machines.
p2m_21B68 will only present about 45 degrees of the 360 rotation in the exact opposite direction I chose. Consistent on both machines.
Next, a 120 second rotation with changes of view, all preceded by a pause. The application approached 50 % of the frame builds before crashing on the Macbook. The G5 is approaching 50% of the frame build and appears to be functioning as planned.
Am I doing anything wrong?
Very nice program. Looking forward to purchasing a license,
After several attempts over several days I find both versions of pano2movie simply won't work on my Mac computers. Regardless of the version the applications simply close. Yesterday three attempts failed. An 800 frame test failed after generating a little over 600 png frames. A 1500 frame test failed after writing a little over 1000 frames. A 4100 frame test failed after writing about 1500 frames. Only one test run a day earlier actually wrote all png frames, but it failed to produce a QT movie.
Fortunately, I still have a working version of QTVRtoMovie. Not much fun to use, but at least it will, in combination with Photo to Movie, generate the files I need to put into my NLE and finish my project.
Pano2Movie shows promise. However, in my experience, it has produced disappointing results. I look forward to responses from participants.
Hello Waldemar,
As you can see from some of the other bug report threads, there's a memory bug in Pano2Movie when producing long sequences which gets a lot worse when using the high quality rendering. Try going into the export palette, setting it to normal quality and see if that helps.
Fixing the crashing/memory bug is my highest priority for Pano2Movie, but has to wait until I have finished some other projects first. :-(
Thanks,
Ian Wood
